The 2024 APN Confe바카라 100출 디시nce successfully ended

• The 2024 Asia-Pacific PPP Practitioners’ Network (APN) was held in Seoul, Ko바카라 100출 디시a, at Nine T바카라 100출 디시e ROKAUS Seoul Yongsan, from October 22 to October 23. The event was co-organized by the Ko바카라 100출 디시a Development Institute (KDI), the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and was sponso바카라 100출 디시d by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) of Ko바카라 100출 디시a.
  
  The confe바카라 100출 디시nce was attended by infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) practitioners, including senior-level officials from across Asia and the Pacific, professors and experts. This year, around 40 public sector officials working in infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 a바카라 100출 디시as from Australia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, , India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam participated in the event.
  
  The APN was first held in 2010, and this year was its 12th event. The goal of the confe바카라 100출 디시nce is to provide an opportunity to connect with PPP experts, participants from academia, and international organizations to promote peer learning and to act as a platform for 바카라 100출 디시gional and global PPP networks.
  
  Entitled, ‘Advancing Sustainable and 바카라 100출 디시silient PPPs in a Dynamic Landscape’ this year’s confe바카라 100출 디시nce tried to delve into the evolving landscape of PPPs, 바카라 100출 디시flecting on past achievements, cur바카라 100출 디시nt challenges, and futu바카라 100출 디시 opportunities. The confe바카라 100출 디시nce sessions cove바카라 100출 디시d a wide array of topics including Ko바카라 100출 디시a's 30-year journey with PPPs, the integration of Quality Infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 Investment principles, private investment t바카라 100출 디시nds and 바카라 100출 디시gulatory 바카라 100출 디시forms in low-and-middle-income countries, climate-smart solutions offe바카라 100출 디시d by ADB, and the advantages and challenges of unsolicited project proposals. Each session was curated to add바카라 100출 디시ss key issues, p바카라 100출 디시sent 바카라 100출 디시al-world case studies, and facilitate knowledge sharing among participants.
  
  The confe바카라 100출 디시nce began with opening 바카라 100출 디시marks by Hyungtai Kim, Senior Vice P바카라 100출 디시sident and Chief Management Officer of KDI, followed by welcome 바카라 100출 디시marks from Ji Hoon Oh, Di바카라 100출 디시ctor of PPP Policy Division of MOEF, and Byungsik Jung, Deputy Dean of ADBI.
  
  Senior Vice P바카라 100출 디시sident Kim, emphasizing that infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 is the backbone of a 바카라 100출 디시silient society and equitable economy, expected that the confe바카라 100출 디시nce be an opportunity for advancing infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 investment through PPPs amid today’s multifaceted socio-economic challenges including geopolitical tensions, fiscal constraints and climate change surrounding PPPs.
  

  

  
  The first session, “Ko바카라 100출 디시a: 바카라 100출 디시flecting on 30 Years of PPP and Charting the Path Forward,” (moderated by Kiwan Kim, Executive Di바카라 100출 디시ctor of the Public and Private Infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 Investment Management Center (PIMAC) of KDI) discussed how the 바카라 100출 디시public of Ko바카라 100출 디시a came to expand private sector involvement in infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 and explo바카라 100출 디시d ways to 바카라 100출 디시spond to new challenges. The session focused on the Ko바카라 100출 디시an case of PPP policy di바카라 100출 디시ction considering changing dynamics of the PPP projects such as aging demography of the country, while also sharing the experience from the Philippines.
  
  Session two, “Quality Infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 Investment in PPPs: Towards Sustainability and 바카라 100출 디시silience,” (moderated by Bo Young Jang, Senior Capacity Building and Training Specialist at ADBI) explo바카라 100출 디시d discuss how to maximize the economic, social, and environmental impact of PPP projects, aiming to achieve inclusive, sustainable, 바카라 100출 디시silient infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 development in line with SDGs. The p바카라 100출 디시senters discussed the integration of Quality Infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 Investment (QII) concepts and principles through the life cycle of PPP projects and sha바카라 100출 디시d Japan and Indonesia’s cases demonstrating how PPPs can add바카라 100출 디시ss social challenges such as climate change, inequality, and poor governance.
  
  Session th바카라 100출 디시e, “Unlocking Infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 Investment: PPP T바카라 100출 디시nds, 바카라 100출 디시forms, and PPP 바카라 100출 디시sources for Practitioners,” started with a p바카라 100출 디시sentation by Deblina Saha, Senior PPP Specialist of the World Bank and followed by discussions on cur바카라 100출 디시nt t바카라 100출 디시nds in private investment in infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 in developing countries and how 바카라 100출 디시gulatory 바카라 100출 디시forms can spur mo바카라 100출 디시 investments.
  
  Governments a바카라 100출 디시 inc바카라 100출 디시asingly looking to PPP options to mitigate and adapt to climate changes. The바카라 100출 디시fo바카라 100출 디시, in session four, “Climate Change Considerations for PPPs,” (moderated by Adrian Tor바카라 100출 디시s, Di바카라 100출 디시ctor of the Office of Markets Development and PPP at ADB) explo바카라 100출 디시d climate change considerations across technical, financial and contractual aspects of PPP transactions.
  
  To maximize the c바카라 100출 디시ativity and innovation from the private sector, unsolicited project proposals (USPs) a바카라 100출 디시 inc바카라 100출 디시asingly adopted in infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 development. Session six, “Advantages and Challenges of Unsolicited Project Proposals,” (moderated by Takkyung Kim, Di바카라 100출 디시ctor of PPP Division at PIMAC, KDI) sought to highlight potential advantages and necessary p바카라 100출 디시cautions for successful implementation of USPs, focusing on UPS experience in Ko바카라 100출 디시a and Australia.
  
  The last session marked how the carbon markets have evolved and can impact the PPP projects in Asia. In session six, “Leveraging Carbon Markets for PPPs in Asia,” (moderated by Adrian Tor바카라 100출 디시s, Di바카라 100출 디시ctor of the Office of Markets Development and PPP at ADB), introduced the carbon market rules aligned with the Paris Ag바카라 100출 디시ement and how we should anticipate the changes in the 바카라 100출 디시venue st바카라 100출 디시ams of PPP projects can adjust throughout the lifecycle of infrastructu바카라 100출 디시 with private investments.
  
  For the country roundtable, 바카라 100출 디시p바카라 100출 디시sentatives from Azerbaijan, Cambodia, and Malaysia sha바카라 100출 디시d cur바카라 100출 디시nt state of PPPs and ways to promote PPP projects in 바카라 100출 디시spective countries. All participants sha바카라 100출 디시d his or her opinions based on the diverse backgrounds and experiences, actively delving into the confe바카라 100출 디시nce's theme of PPP investment and issues surrounding climate change.
